  The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released provisional results of school candidates who sat for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). Per a statement released by the Council on Monday, December 30, 2024, a total of 4,108 candidates had their subject results cancelled, while the results of 781 candidates were withheld. Those whose entire results were cancelled were 483 for possessing mobile phones in the examination hall while 209 had their entire results withheld for other suspected offences.
